The $2 Bill Tradition

Since the 1970s, Clemson fans have carried on one of the most unique traditions in college football: the $2 bill. What began as a publicity stunt to prove Clemson’s economic impact on rival cities has grown into a lasting symbol of Tiger pride. Fans traveling to away games and bowl destinations exchange their cash for $2 bills—often stamped with an orange tiger paw—and spend them at local businesses as a calling card that says: Clemson was here.

Nearly 50 years later, the tradition is stronger than ever. Alumni and supporters continue to stock up on twos before big games, leaving them with bartenders, valets, and shop owners from Miami to Dallas. Beyond showing the program’s economic presence, the $2 bill has become a unifying ritual that bonds the Clemson community across generations.

Carrying the Tradition Forward

Inspired by one of college football’s most unique traditions, this release brings a fresh take on the $2 bill that Tiger fans have carried to games for nearly 50 years. A symbol of pride, presence, and unity, the $2 is reimagined here to mark a new chapter for fans to carry forward.
